Well, to say it’s been a long time is an understatement! Tomorrow it will be 6 months since I’ve posted anything.  I apologize for that but so much has happened during that 6 months.

The kids got out of school in mid June.  I met back up with a classmate from my MO school jr and sr high days.  And guess what?  We’re getting married!!  June is the prospective date.  But he is in the airforce and could be deployed June or July.  If that happens, we will be getting married before he ships out.  If he doesn’t get deployed then, we will be getting married here in OR and then moving us out to MO within the week after we get married.  We are all so excited.  Yes, the ex knows about R and is very happy for me.  He even said that R and I are true soulmates.  THAT was a shock, but it is very true.  Neither R or I have ever felt the kind of love that we have before in our lives.  It is truly from God and we are so grateful for each other.  YES! He is a strong Christian man!!  How wonderful is that?  It will be so nice to not have to be the spiritual head of the household anymore. lol

Our house is still on the market. The realtor we had was a joke. We gave her 6 months to sell it and she didn’t do anything.  As of 2 days ago we have a new realtor and this lady is on FIRE!  So energetic and has been in the business for over 35 years.  I was recommended to her from a couple of friends in church.  THAT is how I like to find someone.  Word of mouth with experience.

Crafting…yea…not so much.  I’ve done a bit of cross stitching but not in about 5 months.  Cheryl, bless her heart, has been waiting for her RR to be returned to her.  I really need to just make myself sit down and tell everyone NO for a day and finish it.  I don’t have that much to do on it. That’s what so bad! PROMISE NEXT WEEKEND CHERYL!! Crocheting?  Just started doing that again after about 9 months break.  I’m crocheting an afghan for my new hubby to be for Christmas.

Speaking of R…I am making a week trip in Dec to go see him.  And my new home and meet my soon-to-be-inlaws.  Really looking forward to that.  NOT looking forward to the 11 hour days there and back on flights.  I do have first class seats on the long legs both ways though. That’s a bonus as I’ve never been first class before.  I’m excited to see how different it is.

School is going well for my children.  R is a junior this year and had one of the leads in their school play.  They did The Uninvited.  It was fantastic!  The musical this spring will be Anything Goes. Can’t wait!  N is in middle school as a 6th grader.  He went back to public school this year after being homeschooled and he’s doing very well.  He loves going to school as he finally has a teacher and 2 assistants that actually listen to the kids.  He’s in an EGC class and it’s the best thing for him!  I think him having a male teacher really helps too. They all just adore him and do all they can to help him out when he needs it.

As for me…I’m working at the church Tues and Thurs mornings til noon.  Tues I get paid for and Thurs I volunteer.  I love what I’m doing and that’s all that matters! I also joined a gym in April as as of now I’m down over 30 pounds and 4 sizes.  I still have 20 more that I’d like to lose, but everyone says I look great where I am.  I tell them they don’t see me naked! ROFLMBO!  Just a few spots where I want to get rid of the ‘extra’ still.  No biggie.

Okay…enough of that for now.  To be honest, I forgot I had this blog.  I’ve been so wrapped up in R for the past 4+ months that I’ve not been online much except for Facebook.

Wold love to know that you’re still around.  Please post and let me know, huh?

HUGS!! Nancy :0)

prom9

Happy Thursday evening everyone!  I hope everyone is well.  The above pic is from Prom night here.  My daughter and her group that all went together.  They all looked just fantastic!!  My dd is on the far right.

Life here is never boring to say the least!  Our house went on the market April 27th.  We have had one open house (I’ll be hosting one this Saturday since my realtor can’t) and I’m praying that our house sells within the next 4 weeks.  We really need that to happen.

Dd got sick 2 weeks ago, then a week ago ds got it and 5 days ago I came down with it.  This is the first any of us have been sick in over 6 months!  AMAZING!!  The kids are feeling much better and I’m doing okay as well.  Sneezing, nose/ears plugged…you know the drill. lol

I am going to see Third Day in concert tomorrow night!!  I am SO EXCITED that I cannot stand it!!  I have been waiting since I got tickets back in Sept for this day.  Sick or not I’M GOING!!  The best part is that my friend S won the grand prize at a Jeremy Camp concert and got 4 VIP tickets to the Third Day concert. So we are going VIP the four of us.  Then we are taking 4 friends with us to use the other tickets so that they don’t go to waste.   A win/win situation for us all!  S said I can’t breath on the lead singer (Mac Powell) though, as I don’t want to get him sick.  I said…well, I could say that IIIII was the one that got him sick though! ROFLMBO!!  I promise to use hand sanitizer before and after meeting the band.  :0)

I did get to host the Craftastic Saturday at church last Saturday.  Out of the 7 hours I was there, I only got to stitch for 3 of them.  I was too busy being hostess.  But it was great to be with my friends and chat and just have a relaxing day.  I truly needed it after all going on lately.

I’m going to try to get some stitching in on my Daydreaming Fairy tonight (that’s what I got the 3 hours in on Saturday).  And then I’m going to do my darndest to join in on the SAL on the HAED bb for our Yearly sal (that’s what Dd Fairy is from).  I’m looking forward to that.

So, that’s all I know right now.  Hoping to get here again soon.  Know that I do check my emails in the morning and at night before bed.  If I haven’t heard from you in awhile, I’d love to hear from you!!

HUGS and blessings!!

April 28th, 2009

So many things going on…so little time to do them.

The past 3 days have been 13 hour hard labor days for me.  Soon-to-be ex and I spent 95% of that time tearing down, putting up, caulking and painting the siding on the south side of our garage.

garage-re-siding-4-09

My daughter has a couple of pics of me up on TOP of the ladder at the bottom of the window height as she knew my friends would never believe it.  I am really afraid of heights, but God was SO with me and I did it with no problem!!  Oh yea…and to get to that height, the ladder you see (Little Giant that I LOVE) has to unfold and go straight up!  Yea…uh huh…see my point? lol

But, we finished around 9pm last night and it looks fabulous dahlings!!  And, just in time as the rain came in last night too! And it’s to rain all day today.  PHEW!

Our house went on the market and the sign went up in our yard yesterday.  I actually started crying a bit when I was driving up the house and saw the sign in the yard.  It just flooded memories of all that’s happened to make us sell the house.  But I know I can’t stay in it with the kids by myself.  And I really am looking forward to getting a new, smaller home for us.

My Uncle Wayne passed away 3 days ago.  He apparently had acute lukemia and the veterans hospital he was at didn’t catch it 2+ months ago when he started going in there because he wasn’t feeling well.  He had had mouth/throat cancer 3 years ago and went through a year of treatments, etc. for that.  So it just boggles the mind why they didn’t test him for any kind of cancer.  No, they didn’t test him at all!!  Amazing, right?  But, Uncle Wayne passed away very peacefully in his sleep.  His 2 older daughters were with him when he passed.  He had gotten to spend the last 5 days of his life with his 7 children around him.   This is my Dad’s brother and between this and then my Mom’s birthday yesterday, he’s a bit ‘down’ as he put it.  I told him of course he is and to go ahead and grieve and not bottle it up.  If you are a praying person, could you say a wee prayer or two for my Dad and his remaining brother and sister?

No xstitching or crocheting getting done in this house.  And I miss it terribly, but am too gosh darn tired at night to think about it.  And I’m up at 5:30am to head out to the gym in the mornings.

Okay…laundry to get done…laundry/mud room to clean out from this weekend’s events and then grocery shopping this afternoon.  I HATE shopping!!  Anyone want to come and do that for me??  lol

Hugs and God bless!!

normal_potc3_still_66

Well hello there!

I know it’s been 2 weeks since I’ve been here, but things are hopping! lol  Lots of stuff going on with the house and we’ll have it all finished by the end of this weekend.  I have a couple of realtors coming out on Tuesday to give me their 2 cents on what they think they can sell my house for and if they have anyone looking for a house our size, etc.  I’m SO happy it’s finally gotten to this point.  It’s a month past when I wanted it to be, but my soon to be ex was dragging his feet on some things.  And then I just took over and now they are happening. LOL

I have to say that I’ve started working out with a good friend from church.  It feels GREAT to be doing that again.  We meet up at 6am every morning during the week.  I stopped working out when we moved here 3.5 years ago and I really missed it.  So, if all goes okay with my thyroid meds I’ll be looking and feeling better in about 3 months.  WHOOT!

I haven’t had much time to be stitching.  I am still stitching on the Neighborhood RR for my xstitch group. And I’m still working on a soft waves baby ghan for a friend’s new gbaby that’s coming in June.  I’m almost finished with that.

I have been reading up a storm since I don’t watch much tv these days.  By the time I’m in bed at night, I just want to read and not look at the tv.  I read the first 8 books by Charlaine Harris of the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries.  I really like them and the 9th one is coming out in May. YAY!  They are definitely ADULT books though, and not for teens or younger.  There’s not a lot of it in there, but enough to warrant the warning.  I just picked them up as I was looking for something new to read. Then, the lady at the bookstore tells me that they were made into a series on HBO called True Blood.  I don’t get HBO so I had no idea.  But I did pre-order the first season on dvd that’s coming out mid May.  Will be interesting to see if they do the characters justice.

I almost forgot!  My birthday was on the 11th and I had the best birthday that I’ve had in YEARS!!  My family and friends spoiled me rotten! And I still have a birthday dinner tomorrow night that a friend is taking me to.  Good thing I’m working out as I need to get all that food off of me!! lol

Okay…that’s about it on my front.  I’d love to hear from you if you get the chance.  I do check my emails, so feel free to email me.

Hugs and GB!

April 3rd, 2009

The days just seem to be flying by right now.   There have been LOTS of changes in my life.  My husband and I recently separated and so it’s just me and the kids now.  Don’t worry…as much as it hurts, it is the right thing to do.  Thank you to everyone that did know and have been supporting me through this.  It’s with God’s grace and your prayers and friendships that are getting me through.

I haven’t picked up a needle in ages.  I have a RR that I really need to get stitching on and I think today is the day.  I’m not feeling well.  First time in over 4 months so I guess it was time. lol   Everyone at church seems to have something, so why shouldn’t I?  ugh…  I will be working on that RR today for sure as I really don’t feel well enough to do much else.

I have been doing a lot of reading and not a lot of tv watching.  Matter of fact, for the past 2 months I don’t even turn the tv on at night.  I have been dvr’ing my fave shows and the kids and I sat and caught up on them all the other day.  It’s amazing how fast it goes when you can fast forward through all the commercials. LOL

My house is coming along.  This weekend I will be taking a sample of our siding over to Lowe’s so I can get enough to re-side the one side of the garage.  I thank God above that it’s only that section.

All the painting (except for one strip above the pantry cabinets in the kitchen) is done.  I’ve been packing up a bit each day and trying to get that finished.   The only things really left are the siding and laying bark dust down outside around the house.  YAY!

Hugs and I  hope you are all doing well.  God bless!

bunco_ladies

Have you ever played Bunco?  I hadn’t…my daughter hadn’t…  Well, we went to our church’s bunco night last night and had the time of our lives!!  Oh my goodness!!  It was open for anyone aged 4th grade and up.  So, we had all ages there and that made it so much more fun!  Men and women alike.  I haven’t laughed and had so much fun in a long time.  Matter of fact, 1/2 way through the night I was hoarse from laughing and whooping it up so much! ROFL

This morning I got the boys to the groomer bright and early.  I’ll pick them back up right after lunch.  I have to say that I ADORE my groomer.  She is just the best and has been grooming the boys since they were around 12 weeks old.  I groom my girl, but I couldn’t do 3 dogs it was just not going to happen. lol

I will be doing something in this house of mine today.  We were hoping to get it on the market this weekend, but husband was dragging his heals getting some things done that only he wanted to do…so another couple weeks I’M hoping at most.  I will probably paint the little bit in the dining room that needs it.

I will be stitching on Daydreaming Fairy today.  She is one of the HAED sal QS pieces for 2009.  We got page 2 last week and that allowed me to get away from the background stitching and start on her face.  Very cool!  I’ll post at the end of the weekend with my progress.

Hope you all have a fantastic day!! God bless!

March 16th, 2009

Hello everyone!

Lots going on here at the homefront!  The house is coming together very nicely and we were to put it on the market this weekend, but it’s been raining so much that we haven’t been able to re-side the south side of the garage.  The rest of the siding is great, but for some reason that side not-so-good.  It warped.  So, once we can get that done…on the market we go!!

I got to take a break on Saturday and watched a 3 hour movie and stitched for 4 hours on my Haed SAL piece Daydreaming Fairy.  Here are the before and after my stitching jag:

Before…

After…

It may not look like a lot, but it really is.  This is on 25ct 1×1.  We got page 2 this past week and this is not quite 1/2 of the first page.  But with how busy I’ve been…well, not a lot of stitching time right now.  I was just so happy to have been able to work on it!

I almost have my kitchen finished!  The last bit is some border over the fridge and pantry cabinets.  Here’s what I’m talking about…

Just have to get the rest of that border down and finish painting the sage green…then the painting is DONE!  After that, I get to wash down all the cabinets with Murphy’s Oil Soap.  LOVE that stuff!  Then I am all done with the kitchen and can move on to the next room.  Not a lot to do in the rest of the house.  Thank goodness!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!  I know I have some blogs to catch up on and I’ll get there as soon as I find an extra 4-5 hours in the day. LOL

Hugs all!

This is my newest niece.  Isn’t she just beautiful? She came into the world on Feb 4th, 2009.  What a great addition to the family!!

I’m kind of hit or miss right now on my blog.  I’ve had my world completely rocked and I’m trying to survive it and move ahead. God is holding me the entire way and family and friends are being so supportive.  And I thank GOD for them every day.

Part of that, as most of you know, is selling our home.  We’ve got about 2 weeks til it goes on the market.  So, the next 2 weeks will be me finishing up packing away the things that we don’t currently use a lot and making it a showroom house.  I did this with our house in CA, but it was only 1050 sq ft and a lot easier to keep clean than my house now.  It’s 3 times the size and 2 stories.  So, I’ve decided to get the rooms that we don’t use a lot finished and then tell the kids to stay out of them. ROFL!

I’m off to church this morning and then afterwards I have to do a run to the store and then home to stitch for a bit on my Day Dreaming Fairy.  We’re to get the 2nd page this week and I’m SO not ready for it! I just haven’t had a lot of down time to stitch.   After the house sells I’ll have more time once we move.

I’ve also decided to go back to school.  I have 2 years of college under my belt (I stopped going because I started having babies) and I really want to get my degree.  I have decided that since I still want to stay home (because I want to raise my autistic son and not anyone else), that I’m going to do the 2 year Medical Transcription program online through our local college.  I’m really excited about it and am waiting for an email from the head of the program to see how I get started.

Big hugs, hope you are all doing well and drop me an email if you get the chance.  I do check it a few times a day.

1-1-05-002

Today would have been my parents 63rd wedding anniversary.  My Mom passed away one year and 2 weeks ago.  Yes, she missed her 62nd anniversary by exactly 2 weeks.  Dad is missing her very much, but he has great friends and family that rally around him and help to keep him strong.  He broke down on the phone to me a couple of days ago and it was the first time since he was here at Christmas.  We are all still reeling that it’s been an entire year.

I am actually have an ‘easy’ day today.  I came down with the intestinal flu yesterday  and by 5pm last night the toilet was my friend.  Sorry if that’s TMI, but if you’ve had it you KNOW what I mean.  Eggs and soup for me today is all.  Oh…and Gatorade.  I do feel a bit better today.  But my intestines still feel like they are at war and I am still a bit feverish.

I thought I was going to get some stitching done today, but not sure I will unless I go right now and dig out my stuff.  Yes dig.  We have this house completely torn apart as we ripped up all the carpets this past weekend.  Only room left is my dd’s room and since she has her 4 wisdom teeth out Thursday we’ve not had a chance to pack up her room and get her furniture/carpet out.  We’ll do that tonight she and I.   I am pretty sure I know where ds’s stocking is and I can work on that for a bit before having to pick up dd in an hour and a half.

Hope all of you are doing well.

Big hugs and blessings!!

4272_floor_man_installing_new_carpet_in_a_house

Tomorrow is the big day.  The carpet/padding/staples are coming out of our house. lol  I pulled it all out of my stitching room a few days ago by myself, but tomorrow it will be me, dh and hopefully 2 of my friends (hubby/wife team) too!  There is 2000 sq ft to come out. Thank goodness we have 1/3 of the house hardwood or I’d be going buggy!!  The new carpet is coming on Tues/Wed this coming week.

Yesterday dd had all 4 wisdom teeth out.  She looks like a very cute little chipmunk today.  The surgeon said that she would be the most swollen probably tomorrow, but then she’d start looking better Sunday. She’s hoping so as she wants to get back to school on Monday.  She slept almost all day yesterday and today.  Tomorrow I’ll get her up and get her in the shower (we have a built-in seat in our shower in the master so she can sit) and get her moving a bit.

I got Andrea’s RR done a couple of days ago.  I took the Knit Shop from the Freebie cd and personalized it for her.  It’s no longer a knit shop… ;0) I’ll take a pic some time this weekend and show you.

Well, after all that has gone on in the past week it all caught up with me today.  I laid down at 3, fell asleep at 3:30 and woke up at 6:30.  Guess I needed it, huh?  I’m still extremely tired and think I’ll go to bed early and read myself to sleep.  Tomorrow is going to be a VERY busy day indeed!

Hugs all and God Bless!!
